My name is Ashlea and I have lots to share!
I love to eat, create and explore, so hopefully you find my posts interesting and inspiring enough to stick around for more! I can’t wait to connect with others with similar interest, which unfold as the site grows. This blog will cover many topics, my love for food and how it works, both in the pan and in your body, plus what’s going on in my new life as a first time mum.
I’m from Melbourne, Australia, I have a Food Science degree from the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2006 with Honours, in my final year I completed a research thesis in food microbiology. I aim to demystify the foods we eat and the modern diet, pulling fact from fiction and giving you some yummy new recipes in the process!
I have worked in the Food Industry for 9 years now, covering manufacturing processes, food law, food safety, consumer goods regulation and the Australian retail environment. But this site won’t stop at food, I’m also an avid pinterest-er of all things creative, which a side of myself that I’m only just starting to explore, having always been so science-y and analytical.
My husband have been married since July 2014, but together since 2002, we built our first home together in 2011, have the worlds cutest puppy and are about to welcome a brand new baby into our little family. Exciting times ahead!
